Thisdocumentidentifiesstepsnecessarytoperformabuildingenclosureriskanalysis.Theanalysis
willresultintasksthatdefinethelevelofBECxcommensuratewiththeowner’stoleranceforrisk
associatedwithbuildingenclosureperformance.
TheBECxprocesscoveredbythisdocumentisapplicabletoanindividualassemblyacombinationof
assembliesorawholeenclosureassembly.Forexampleanindividualassemblycanbethefenestration
theairbarrierorthethermalinsulation.Acombinationofassemblieswouldincludethefenestration
theairbarrierandthecompleteheattransfersystem(e.g.boththeinsulationandroofassembly).
Awholebuildingenclosureassemblywouldincludeallheatairandmoisturecontrollayersofthe
buildingenclosureonallsixsidesofthebuilding.
